Family and friends are mourning the loss of four soldiers, killed in an explosion in Iraq on Monday.
Sergeant 1st Class Edward Kramer was a civilian firefighter.
He recently transferred to the Sunny Point Fire Rescue in Brunswick County.
Kramer was also a devoted husband and father of two children.
A family friend said, “He loved serving his country and believed in what he was doing with his band of brothers.“
And the family of Sgt. Juan Carlos Baldeosingh remembers him as man who was funny, kind and thoughtful.
His wife Rebecca Bladeosingh said, “Carlos was my best friend, my husband, and father to our three girls. He is truly an American hero. I am so proud of him for fighting for our country.“
Sgt. Roger Adams Jr. and Specialist Robert Bittiker also died in the explosion.
The DOD says they were killed by an IED in Baghdad on Monday.
