Fire Damages Cookhouse of Skylight Inn

A famous barbecue spot here in the East, almost went up in flames Thursday night.
   
Firefighters fought a blaze at the Skylight Inn, in Ayden. It started in the cookhouse, a building that’s separated from the main restaurant.
   
The fire damaged part of the roof, and caused some minor electrical damage, but manager Sam Jones says no one was injured.
   
Jones says the restaurant opened up for business as usual Friday morning.
