Jacksonville woman killed in dog attack

A Jacksonville woman died after she was attacked by a dog while visiting friends in Norfolk this weekend.
   
Theresa Ellerman died an hour after being bitten by an Alaskan malamute Saturday morning. The Jacksonville Daily News reports that the medical examiner concluded that a bite to her throat is what killed her.
   
Neighbors say they never felt threatened by the animal. An Alaskan malamute is a large dog that’s similar to a husky. Animal control have quarantined the dog.
