The wind has picked up in Bethel just in the last 30 minutes. Moderate sleet continues to fall.

Been listening to your coverage on and off all morning so I apologize if you’ve already touched on this subject. I am a transplant from the north (where we have lots of this weather) and just wanted to make a comment on the roads. People have been commenting that the roads have not been cleaned, but with freezing rain, it is much better to leave the coat of snow for it to fall on rather than have it hit the pavement. Provides a little better traction than straight ice. Thanks for the great coverage.
thank you for your coverage. Falkland at the Edgecombe line has icy rain. Thank you for announcing the Annual Bethel Fire Department Equipment Auction was cancelled. The individuals responsible for this yearly event work extremely hard to raise funds for their department. The Auction has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20th.

We are now receiving sleet and possibly freezzing rain in Farmville. Sgt. Coleman is absolutely, positively correct! A 4 X 4 driven in any manner other than safe and/or slow WILL put you in a ditch!! Stay Safe!!

You have mentioned areas from all over Eastern NC but I have heard nothing about Beaufort County. WITN-TV has been off the air since at least 8:45 AM but I don’t know if they are having problems or the power is out in Beaufort County.

We are on the south side of the Albemarle Sound east of Roper on Summerfield Road.The wind is Northeast at 20 + and with sleet and freezing rain.
