Man Killed in Overnight House Fire

Fire crews are investigating what caused an overnight fire that killed a man. It happened on Cecil Whitehurst Road in Martin County. Officials tell us an elderly woman woke up to smoke in the house. She got out and ran down the street to call 911. Her son, also inside, did not make it out. No word yet on what started the fire. Family members say there were no working smoke detectors in the house.
