  A major offensive against the Taliban in Afghanistan claims the life of a Marine. The Department of Defense won’t release the victim’s name. Military officials say he was one of 4,000 troops involved in the offensive. Many of them are from Camp Lejeune and Fort Bragg. They say it’s the largest Marine offensive since the one in Fallujah, Iraq in 2004. Also, Carteret General Hospital says it got word that four members of a National Guard unit in Jacksonville were killed in Iraq. One of those members was a hospital employee. Sergeant Carlos Baldeosingh was a security guard at Carteret General.
