A Native American fraternity at ECU held a Pow Wow today to teach people more about the culture.
Epsilon Chi Nu has been holding the annual Pow Wow every fall since 1999.
    Vendors sold Native American jewelry.
Members of different tribes show off their different dance styles.
There are eight tribes in North Carolina.
Fraternity members say it’s important to hold events like this.
“It’s very important to have Native American events just to let the people know we’re still here, because a lot of people forget about the native people and the native students; there’s so little of us at colleges,“ said fraternity member Patrick Suarez.
Suarez says the Native American community at ECU is very tight knit.
He says it becomes a home away from home for the students.
