North Carolina church plans to burn Bibles on Halloween
A church in Canton, North Carolina is marking Halloween this year by burning what it calls satanic books. Many of the books on the list are versions of the Bible.
Pastor Marc Grizzard wants to burn any Bible that is not the King James version. Grizzard and the congregation at Amazing Grace Baptist Church consider other interpretations of the Bible to be false.
They also plan to burn the books of well known Christian writers who have occasionally used other versions of the Bible.
“We’re burning versions of God’s word such as the NIV, the NASV, the ECV, the living bible,” Grizzard said. “There’s a lot of different authors that we consider heretics such as Billy Graham, Rick Warren, the list goes on and on.“
Grizzard and his congregation believe that only the King James version of the Bible is the true word of God. Grizzard says everything else is a satanic influence.

Well, Christians? Let’s hear from you. This is a disgrace and many of us are just sitting here shaking our heads, again, not saying a word. Stand up for what you believe in. We are being run down again and again because we won’t speak out.
We do not believe in burning the BIBLE.. It is the only TRUE Book we have. I will keep them in my prayers.
The Mormons need to send over a couple of their missionaries just to get things really rowdy. Bet that would get the old minister going off with verbal diarrhea.
Hitler also liked to burn books he did not agree with
Because the guy in the overalls is who I would believe…
...man, only in Eastern NC
Because in HIS judgement, all but HIS favored interpretation of the Bible are false, Pastor Marc will turn the spotlight on himSELF while he displays a violent sign of PRIDE, aggression, and persecution for the world to see.
What a thoughtful gift to offer Satan for Halloween.
sorry… correction: in my last sentence the first “to” should’ve been “do”.
i wouldn’t want anyone to get the wrong message.
Halloween… really? And Mr. Grizzard, good luck burning the “ECV”, there isn’t one.
I’ll to my best to refrain from passing judgement and leave it to the God whose books you’re burning…
