One local high school honors a beloved Deputy

The start of the high school football season is bittersweet for one community in the east.
   
Before kick off, the Onslow County Sheriff’s Department and White Oak High School took a moment to remember and honor Deputy Steve Boehm.
   
Deputy Boehm was killed on the job back in June on highway 17.
   
Not only did Deputy Boehm serve as a resource officer at White Oak High School but he had also served as a football coach.
