The man, Jimmie Wesley BOYD, 03/18/1982, of New Bern, was crossing Neuse Boulevard near Dunkin Donuts, when he moved into the path of an oncoming vehicle. A1998 Chrysler Cirrus traveling east on Neuse Boulevard toward downtown struck BOYD.  The car was driven by Sonya Natasha MORGAN, of New Bern.

BOYD was flown to Pitt Memorial Hospital for treatment, where he remains in stable condition today.

The incident is still under investigation by members of the New Bern Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit, however, no charges have been filed at this time.
