In tonight’s Fugitive Files we take a closer look at the suspect in this case.
People who knew James Richardson say he once had a very promising future as an athlete.
Now he’s a wanted man.

Ronald Vincent is still shocked that one of his former students is now a murder suspect. He says, “We, all the guys that knew him and worked with James are really stunned he would let himself get into this situation.“

Vincent taught Richardson American History at J.H. Rose High School back in the 90’s and says Richardson’s basketball future looked bright. He played for J.H. Rose High School, college and played professionally in the U.S. and Europe, but came back to Greenville.

He says, “James had been working with kids in some of these programs we have after school. I hadn’t seen him in a while but he’d been trying to help mentor kids and we thought that’s where he was headed with his life.“
Vincent says he lost touch with Richardson. He hasn’t spoken to him for two years.
Though, he remembers a conversation where Richardson mentioned children around here need support.

Vincent says, “As he told me once, ‘a lot of people in these neighborhoods need a male around to help them.’“

Police say Richardson’s past involvement with children doesn’t matter. Right now, he’s a wanted man considered armed and dangerous. The reward for his capture is now $10,000.00.

Once again, if you know where Richardson is call Pitt-Greenville Crime Stoppers at 252-758-7777. He is 6’ 7”, weighs 230 pounds and has black hair and hazel eyes.
