Surf City hopes to ban sex offenders from parks, community centers

A town in the east is hoping to keep it’s parks free of sex offenders.

Mayor Zander Guy of Surf City says his town should not allow sex offenders at it’s parks or community centers.

Currently, two registered sex offenders are living in the city limits.

Guy says nine others are living in a five mile radius of surf city and he wants to protect children.

Mayor Guy says the town’s attorney is working ona proposed ordinance.
