ECU seeing big influx of students this year, but down slightly

While thousand of students are now settling into their now living arrangements, ECU says there are actually fewer new students this year than last.

The exact number isn’t out yet but a spokesperson for the university says they have around 4,000 freshmen this year.
   
That’s about 500 students less than last year.
   
The university says it raised standards in an effort to help with retention and graduation numbers.

The university should have around 28,000 students total this year.
