The flu has shown up on East Carolina’s campus, but fortunately in small numbers.

According to the school website, there have been a few people with flu-like symptoms since classes started.

University officials expect the number to grow as the semester continues.

The ECU Emergency Response Team and the ECU Influenze Steering Group will continue to monitor the H1N1 situation and will provide updates on an as-needed basis.

There are no plans to change the fall academic schedule or activities.

ECU Student Health Service and ECU are emphasizing good hand washing and masking of coughing and sneezing.
