A local police department is getting some money to start a dropout prevention program.
The Greenville Police Department is getting 150-thousand dollars from the North Carolina General Assembly.
The program will be in the Greenville-Pitt County area.
The department is teaming up with the Department of Corrections, probation and parole, and the juvenile justice system.
The project will hopefully prevent kids between the ages of 16 and 21 who are on probation and still in school from dropping out.
