Move-in day a beginning and end for some

The start to another school year is just a few days away and a new group of college freshmen are moving into their home away from home - the dorm.

Many of those new students had plenty of stuff to pack into their rooms but for parents saying goodbye isn’t always easy.

Welcome aboard the Pirate ship.

It is once again freshman move in day at ECU.

For thousands of new students it’s marks a new chapter in their lives

For parents, it marks the end of one.

For students like Donald Rose and Ben Harper, both of whom are planning to go pre-med, move in day is the beginning of some big dreams.

But before college officially kicks off, the first challenge these students and parents face is getting all their stuff into a room split between two people.

That means multiple trips from the car up the stairs and finally to the dorms.

The only thing that’s left is saying goodbye.

As if moving in isn’t a big enough challenge, parents and students had to contend with temperatures in the mid nineties.
