WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Talk about instant feedback. Most colleges and universities let students provide feedback on professors. But at Purdue University, the process is being sped up because of a new online evaluation system. As it is now, Purdue students rate professors through written evaluations, which are then typed out—so the instructor doesn’t know which student said what. It can take weeks or months to transcribe the comments. The new online system will let professors see student comments in just one day. In addition to saving time, it also saves trees. Purdue estimates the change will save about 985,500 pieces of paper each semester.
