Some Beaufort County students opened a new classroom building today.

Washington Mayor Judy Jennett and Congressman Walter Jones were just a few of the people on hand to officially open the new building at Washington Montessori Public Charter School.

The new building has five classrooms for grades one through three.

In addition to the additional classrooms, the building has some green features incorporated into the design which allow more natural light in and areas to collect and recycle rain water.

It’s taken 3 years to plan, build and open the new facility.
