An amendment passed by the U.S. Senate will give thousands of dollars to services for homeless veterans.
Senator Richard Burr sponsored the amendment, which will provide an additional $750,000 for homeless veterans.
The money will go to fund housing assistance, and other supportive services.
The Department of Veterans Affairs’ will fund the amendment.
An estimated 1,700 veterans are homeless in North Carolina alone.
