CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) - Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker will visit North Carolina-based Marines to promote a treatment program for mental health and chemical dependency.
The treatment is designed for military members, veterans, retirees, and their families.
Walker will visit Marines and students Wednesday at the Marine Corps Combat Service Support School at Camp Johnson, which is part of Camp Lejeune.
Walker, who played college ball at the University of Georgia and who spent 14 years in professional football, suffers from a trauma-related disorder. He will encourage Marines facing depression and substance abuse to seek help.
