Thousands of troops receive Afghanistan orders

16,000 troops have received orders for Afghanistan.
The Pentagon’s top military officer says a battalion of Marines will be the first to go. They’re expected to arrive in southern Afghanistan next week.
Officials are hoping to get the full military build-up of 30,000 additional troops into the war zone by the summer.
Earlier this week, it was announced Camp Lejeune would be sending 1,500 Marines by the end of December, and then another 6,200 Marines after the first of the year.
