Winterville Man Found Guilty On Six Drugs And Firearms Charges
RALEIGH - United States Attorney George E.B. Holding announced that in federal court JOHN ANTHONY PETERSON, 27, Winterville, North Carolina, was found guilty on all six counts of the Superseding Indictment, which was returned by a Federal Grand Jury on December 12, 2007. The trial was held before Senior United States District Judge W. Earl Britt.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The Marine arrested in Mexico in the killing of a pregnant colleague is awaiting extradition back to the U.S.
Protecting Kids Online
Parents know, protecting children is the number one priority but who's looking after them when they are online? Workers in Pitt County got a lesson in what to look for and how to protect children from questionable web sites and on-line predators. Lt. Karen Kilpatrick says parents need to know who our kids are talking too and how long they are on-line. Kilpatrick says the best way to protect our children is to educate them. "It's your business to make sure they're aware of the dangers that are out there and the people that are out there that may take advantage of them and the proper monitoring and the proper education will help save that child," said Kilpatrick. If you suspect your child has been contacted by a child predator, don't hesitate to contact police.
