GREENVILLE, Texas (AP) - A Greenville man was hauled off to jail Friday morning after authorities say he fell asleep at a drive-thru while ordering food from a fast-food restaurant.
Employees at a Whataburger restaurant called police around 12:30 a.m. after a man blocked their drive-thru with his vehicle nearly an hour and appeared to be asleep, according to Friday’s online edition of the Greenville Herald-Banner.
A news release from the city of Greenville says the 37-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated and taken to jail after police say he failed field sobriety tests. The drive-thru remained blocked until a tow truck could remove the vehicle.
Whataburger is a Texas-based fast-food restaurant specializing in burgers and fries and typically stays open 24 hours. Greenville is about 45 miles northeast of Dallas.
