WASHINGTON (AP) - Barack Obama has taken some time in between inaugural festivities to remember the nation’s war dead.

The president-elect has laid a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery. He was joined at a brief ceremony by Vice President-elect Joe Biden and their wives, Michelle and Jill.

After a bugler played taps, Obama and Biden placed the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

Later, the five-member Obama family, including Michelle Obama’s mother, attended services at a local Baptist church.

Obama and Biden are set to spend the afternoon at a star-studded concert at the Lincoln Memorial. As many as a half-million people are expected to attend the show, headlined by Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen and U-2.
