From time to time here at Nine On Your Side, we try new things and invite your comments about them.

In this week’s Viewer’s Voice, we look at what people had to say about our website and our On Your Side in Your Hometown features.

First, Annie Holder had some concerns.  She writes, “I can not believe that you have taken a website that was so simple to find what you wanted and made it into a trashy hard to use project.  Most people go to the website for a purpose- usually news or weather.”

Annie, thanks for sharing your concerns.  We’ve been working for months to re-design and re- launch our website, wnct.com, and we did re-launch our new website as of late this week.  We hope that since you sent your note, you’ve had the chance to see the changes we have made and invite your feedback.
And some of you have comments about another feature we launched just last month, our Nine On Your Side in Your Hometown series.

Each weekday at 6 p.m. in July we visited a different hometown in the east and told you about its past, present and future.  Harold writes, “I have enjoyed your Hometown series.  I hate to see it end.  It was a good way for folks like me that have lived here my entire life to learn more about eastern NC and consider travel here at home instead of some far away place.
I hope you all will bring the Hometown field trips back.  I think it was very positive for the community and for WNCT.”

Thanks, Harold.

We enjoyed visiting and sharing those hometowns with you and look forward to more in the future.

Thanks to all of you who wrote and called for this week’s Viewer’s Voice.
