It’s not surprising that the weather is on the minds of people in the east.
So is a tool used by police to keep track of deadbeat dads.
We’ve got more on both in this week’s Viewer’s Voice.
One viewer spoke up about the electronic monitoring program being used by law enforcement in Carteret County.
Our report indicated the program helps track dead beat dads to make sure they pay child support.
This viewer suggests a possible expansion, “They need to put some of these child molesters and registered pedophiles on their electronic monitoring to keep them from messing with people’s children. So, it won’t be just deadbeat daddies.”
Our report did not suggest whether parents who fall behind in child support should stay in or out of jail.
It focused on the monitoring program itself.
As far as your idea for having child molesters included in the monitoring, that’s something you can suggest to your city council or county commission.
We also got this e-mail from Cindy, who’s apparently looking for a winter wonderland.
She writes, “I would like to know if we’re going to get any snow before the spring. I’d much rather see snow in December or January. All this cold weather we’ve been having it sure would be nice.“
Cindy, we appreciate your enthusiasm.
Some snow flurries are possible this weekend, but no accumulation.
There might be a better chance on Tuesday.
As for the long-term outlook, that’s anybody’s guess.
Thanks to everyone who responded this week.
