Viewer’s Voice

A couple of things got your goat this week and viewers had a lot to say about them.

One was how we dress while another was how school kids dress.
   
The newest rules on school uniforms drew mixed reviews to our Viewer’s Voice.
We reported that at a number of school systems, kids were taken out of class or sent home because they weren’t wearing the proper school uniforms.
   
That brought this comment from Kayla, “I am a student at one of the Pitt County Schools and I’m a very small person for my size. Its extremely difficult to find clothes in my size and I think its ridiculous that they are sending kids out of class just because they don’t have the proper uniform on. That’s taking kids out of their education.”

Then there was this comment from a person with the handle, Homey the Clown, “I don’t feel sorry for the kids or the parents who are whining. It’s a great idea and the schools look better having well dressed kids. Before you know it these new rules will be everyday routine and the spoiled brats and parents will be over it.“

Then, Leigh Turner had this to say about the pictures on our employee bio page of our website. She wants us to post different pictures of our reporters.

She writes, “Nike t-shirts and open-collar polos do not convey professionalism or credibility to the viewer or not to this viewer at least.  I hope you will consider this as a suggestion that will project a more positive image of your reporters and website.”
   
Well, Leigh, all of our anchors and reporters on the website are wearing professional clothes, but some of the behind the scenes staff were dressed in polo’s and t-shirts.

Our News Director Adam Henning agreed with your complaint and he says we will be re-shooting the photo’s of the behind the scenes staff.
