Governor Bev Perdue told the U.S. House Democratic Caucus in Virginia that Congress must pass the economic stimulus bill.

New York Governor David Patterson and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stood by her side as she told members of Congress that the country is suffering economically.

She also said the voters are expecting politicians to put aside partisanship in favor of what the people need.

“I can tell you the people of North Carolina are watching what our congressional members and our senators do, because they are the ones that will suffer if there is not an immediate resolution to this challenge for America,“ said Perdue.

She also asked that Congress come to a decision quickly and that the funds are distributed quickly.
