GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina’s secretary of state is participating in a statewide campaign to help senior citizens avoid investment scams.
Secretary of State Elaine Marshall and other financial officials will speak at the “Ask and Check” investment education forum Tuesday at the Greensboro Marriott Downtown. The event is meant to educate seniors about securities fraud that targets older investors.
The secretary of state’s Securities Division enforces and administers the state’s securities laws.
Other participants include AARP North Carolina and the Investor Education Foundation of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
