APEX, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina home daycare is closed while authorities investigate the death of an infant.
Multiple media outlets report Thursday that 3-month-old Eliana Navy was pronounced dead at a hospital Oct. 26 after dispatchers were called about a child that had stopped breathing.
A cause of death has not been released.
The next day, state officials suspended the license of the home daycare center operated by Judy Lucas in Apex. The state Department of Health and Human Services found violations ranging from inadequate supervision of children to exposed electrical outlets and inadequate smoke detectors.
Lucas was first licensed to operate the center in August 2004.
