LONDON (AP) - Two Beefeaters at the Tower of London have been suspended for allegedly bullying a female colleague - the first woman appointed to the post at the royal fortress.
The Tower of London says a third is under investigation over the alleged harassment of 44-year-old Moira Cameron.
In 2007, Cameron became the first female yeoman warder in more than 500 years. The warders, who patrol the fortress on the banks of the Thames, are popularly known as “Beefeaters” because of the rations of meat they were given during medieval times.
A statement from the Tower of London on Monday says an internal investigation is under way.
