Parul Joshi joined Eyewitness News 9 On Your Side as a General Assignment Reporter in January 2007 by way of Asheville, NC. There she worked at WLOS as a producer, assignment editor and field producer.

Parul's roots are not far from the Tar Heel state. She was born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina. She graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina in 2005 with a degree in broadcast journalism. In just a short time, Parul's work has been honored by the Society of Professional Journalists and the Hearst Foundation.

Parul dreamed of becoming a reporter since she was a little girl. She owes her passion for journalism to her parents who made sure news was a central part of her life every day. At a young age, she realized the power of television news and the positive force it can have on society. She knew she was meant to meet people and share their stories.

Aside from reporting, Parul is also an avid dancer. She has studied Indian dancing extensively and earned a degree in Bharata Natyam, the classical dance of India.

When she's not reporting the news, reading the news, or watching the news, you can find Parul enjoying a good book or working out. Every chance she gets, Parul drives down to South Carolina to see her family and friends. She is married to Himanshu Patel who is a pharmacist with Walgreens.
