It’s been a busy year across the east and across the state.

The powerful storm slamming the Atlantic Coast has claimed the life of one North Carolina man.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - Remnants of Tropical Storm Ida are pounding the East Coast, flooding coastal areas in New Jersey after slamming the Carolinas and Virginia.

The storm that has been battering the East for the past few days is moving north, soaking our neighbors.

No one hurt

Onslow County is one of the hardest hit areas from Ida’s remnants.  At one point about ten streets were either partially or completely closed in Onslow County.

The rain is finally starting to taper off.  But were not out of the woods just yet.

This storm is taking a toll on the Outer Banks.

High water is creating a driving hazard inland too, in places like Greenville.

Combine a wind and the saturated ground and you get a tree that toppled into a home in Bath.

Other parts of the state weren’t immune to the heavy rains.

Use extreme caution when traveling today.

Officials in Jacksonville say more than 6 inches of rain led to overflows in the city’s wastewater system.

RODANTHE, N.C. (AP) - A portion of the two-lane highway on North Carolina’s Outer Banks is closed temporarily because of ocean overwash, and officials say it will be closed intermittently.

One of the hardest hit areas from the storm is Dare County where a Coastal Flood Warning and High Wind Warning remains in effect.
