Just Delete It!

In this week's Just Delete It we profile the “Scam Victims Reimbursements Programme Scam”.

The e-mail claims to be from a United Nations entity - the Nigerian Government Reimbursement Committee.

It promises monetary compensation, sometimes upward of $150,000 in reimbursement.

Finally, it advises the recipient to keep the reimbursement secret as the U.S. Secret Service and Nigeria's Economic and Financial Crimes Commission are actively pursuing the original perpetrators.

Although this e-mail offers much needed aid for scam victims, it's actually a scam itself that will ultimately seek fees to cover the imaginary reimbursement it offers. Besides, when did government entities start using Yahoo, Hotmail or Gmail?

Thanks to Dora and Joann for passing along this scam!
