In this week’s Just Delete It, we take a look at a new e-mail that claims Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden will excuse himself from the ticket by citing health problems and be replaced by Hillary Clinton sometime after the October 2nd Vice Presidential debate.

Now this isn’t the first time a rumor like this has circulated the net.  As recently as the 2004 campaign, the internet chatter was that George Bush would dump Dick Cheney as his running mate.  There was even internet talk at one point that John McCain might dump Sarah Palin in the days following her introduction to the nation.

As perspective, no presidential candidate has ever replaced a running mate in the middle of a campaign since George McGovern.  Thomas Eagleton stepped down as George McGovern’s running mate in 1972 just 18 days after after the DNC only to be replaced by Sargent Shriver.  McGovern later lost in an electoral landslide.

Now Nine On Your Side contacted the Obama campaign about this e-mail but our calls weren’t return.

For now we’ll say, Just Delete It but don’t empty your recycle bin just yet.

Thanks to Matt for passing this one along.
