Giles’ 21 points lead Western Carolina to 73-65 win over Furman

(AP) - Brandon Giles scored 21 points last night to lead Western Carolina to a 73-65 victory over Southern Conference opponent Furman.

Giles hit 5-of-7 from 3-point range to lead the Catamounts to their first league victory. Negus McKenna scored 16 points, and Jake Robinson had 15.

Justin Dehm led the Paladins with 18 points.

Furman led 41-28 at halftime.

The Catamounts are now 5-and-10, 1-and-4 in Southern Conference play. The Paladins are 2-and-13, with a conference record of 1-and-5.
