There’s a 50th birthday celebration happening in the east, and the party's at Lenoir Community College.
This day was planted in history thorough a new campus landmark. And the occasion drew in crowds of students, faculty, community leaders, and even past presidents.
Current president, Dr. Brantley Briley says, "I think Lenoir Community College has been the economic engine for Lenoir, Jones, and Greene counties. We have trained and retrained people for the workforce and because of Lenoir Community College our counties are what they are."
The day was filled with events celebrating the school's transition from being an industrial education center, to a technical institution, and into what it is today.
