Protecting Kids Online

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Parents know, protecting children is the number one priority but who's looking after them when they are online?

Workers in Pitt County got a lesson in what to look for and how to protect children from questionable web sites and online predators.

Lt. Karen Kilpatrick, with the Pitt County Sheriff's Office, says parents need to know who our kids are talking too and how long they are on-line.

Kilpatrick says the best way to protect our children is to educate them.

"It's your business to make sure they're aware of the dangers that are out there and the people that are out there that may take advantage of them and the proper monitoring and the proper education will help save that child," said Kilpatrick.

If you suspect your child has been contacted by a child predator, don't hesitate to contact police.
