April 9, 2008- The North Pitt Attendance Area Middle School String Orchestra (NPAAMSSO), a group consisting of four students from Bethel School, sixteen students from Stokes School, and five students from Wellcome Middle School, participated in the Eastern Region Orchestra Festival at Fayetteville State University on April 9, 2008. Under the direction of Suzanna Sonnenberg of Wellcome Middle School, they performed in front of a panel of four university professors of music who served as judges. This talented group of young musicians earned a "Superior" from all four judges, the highest possible rating! This is the first time any of the students in this group have participated in an Orchestra festival for ratings. The directors from Bethel and Stokes Schools are Mike Arny and Scott Pagona.
