For three months his face was plastered on billboards and the nation was left to wonder what he was thinking and where he was hiding. Today, we have some of those answers.
Silent, emotionless, and with longer hair, his three months of freedom ended Thursday night in handcuffs.
Authorities say they spotted him looking "suspicious" walking on a street in a small town in Western Mexico.
He gave authorities his real name and was arrested without incident.
According to the Associated Press, Laurean told police he survived the last three months by sleeping in fields and eating fruit. He had only 10 pesos to his name, which amounts to about one dollar.
Accompanied by officers and in handcuffs, Laurean was also faced with flashing cameras and rapid fire questions from reporters.
When asked if he has anything to say, he said one word "proof". Then asked what he would do next, he responded with a question, "Do I have a choice?"
