April 30, 2008 – Students in the Trainable Mentally Disable (TMD) class at A. G. Cox Middle School will hold their annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale on May 8-9, 2008 from 8-4 p.m.
All proceeds from the sale go back into the classroom to help buy supplies and pay for any field trips the TMD class may take. In previous years, the funds have helped to purchase a computer and fund a reading program for the class. There are several varieties of vines, yellow tomatoes and zinnias available for sale.
“I find that this is a good event for my students because they gain experience working with real money in real world situations and they learn new skills in the process,” commented class teacher, Sarah Williams. “The A.G. Cox family is always very supportive in this endeavor and they help make it a success each year."
The sale will take place in the school’s greenhouse. In the event of rain, the sale will be held in the foyer of the gymnasium. All visitors must sign-in to the office upon arrival.
