Camp Lejeune Hosts Military Retiree Appreciation Day!

To recognize the many contributions of military retirees to the military and civilian communities, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune will host a Military Retiree Appreciation Day at Marston Pavilion on Saturday, September 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

To recognize the many contributions of military retirees to the military and civilian communities, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune will host a Military Retiree Appreciation Day at Marston Pavilion on Saturday, September 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The event will begin with a breakfast at Marston Pavilion from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. Cost of the breakfast is $7.50 per person and reservations for the breakfast can be made by calling the Retired Affairs Office at 910-449-9701, ext. 205.

The program will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the parade of colors followed by a series of guest speakers to include: Colonel Flatau, Commanding Officer, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune; Ray Smith, USMC Ret, CAPT Gerard Cox, Commanding Officer, Naval Hospital, and Kim Oliver, Marine Corps Community Services.

The Whitey Welbourn Award will be given to an outstanding retiree who provides services to the retiree community, active duty, community widows and their families.

A Health and Information Fair will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. where a number of government agencies will be represented with onsite displays. Representatives will be available to answer questions.

A free fish fry lunch, provided by Marine Federal Credit Union, will be provided to all attendees. For a complete event listing, please refer to the schedule of events that follow:
