The start of the high school football season is bittersweet for one community in the east.
Before kick off, the Onslow County Sheriff's Department and White Oak High School took a moment to remember and honor Deputy Steve Boehm.
Deputy Boehm was killed on the job back in June on highway 17.
Not only did Deputy Boehm serve as a resource officer at White Oak High School but he had also served as a football coach.
