The Carteret County Sheriff’s Department tell Nine On Your Side they’ve arrested a 27 year old Atlantic man on assault and kidnapping charges.
Nicholas Chris-Joyner was arrested for kicking, punching and strangling his girlfriend as well as restraining her against her will.
Joyner is charged with one count of Assault by Strangulation, Kidnapping, Assault on a Female, and Interfering with Emergency Communications.
Joyner allegedly broke all the phones as his victim attempted to call 911.
He’s in the Carteret County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
His 29 year old victim was treated and released.
