Many of our viewers have strong opinions, and we invite you to express them in a segment we call Viewer’s Voice. And some viewers we've heard from many times, including this one. She feels we're not giving rain, fair coverage.
"You need to understand that rain is important to our lives. You just had a newscaster who said, ‘oh we're gonna get rid of the rain, it's gonna get out of here.’ Rain sustains our lives we are mostly water as human beings. Without rain we could not survive."
We have on many occasions said we needed the rain and asked our Storm Team Nine meteorologists when we'd have a good chance of rain. We've covered the drought extensively for many months with stories on its impact on local farmers and communities.
And Steve from Kinston has a sharp set of eyes:
“I have been watching WNCT news cast for quite a few years and I have noticed within the last few months that at the beginning of your 6:00 pm news show, you have a small clip of a water fountain that the water is running backwards (the water is flowing from the base pool and shoots upwards to the fountain spout).”
You’re right Steve, good catch. We sent the local footage to a production company that put it together, and we will have it corrected.
And this from Raynada and Michael Keel:
President Bush passed that everyone that's receiving unemployment benefits will receive throughout the holidays. But Employment Commission denied my husband the unemployment extension benefits. What I want to know is if the benefit for everyone, or certain people. We feel that it's discrimination.
We reported the extension went into effect November 23rd, so if you filed for unemployment before then, you're not eligible for extra payments. If not please let us know and we'll investigate it. We'd be interested in interviewing you. Thanks to those who contacted us for Viewer’s Voice.
