It wasn't money, it was a bear, a building, and a holiday salute that caught our viewers interest this week.

This week a wounded black bear attacked the hunter who shot it.

Ken thought Allan Hoffman was blaming the bear:

“Alan, give me a break, the bear had been shot several times. you cannot blame the bear! Every bear hunter knows you do not go after a wounded bear alone and unprepared.”

Well Ken we weren't blaming the bear, we were trying to point out the black bear population is growing which means more human–bear run-ins were likely.

On our story about the new East Carolina Heart Institute opening its doors, we got this note from Dr. Roman Pawlak who says we left out an important fact: the number of dietitians working there.

The doctor writes how many lives could be saved if that $150 million spent on the facility to treat already developed preventable diseases was spent on health promotion and disease prevention.

Dr. Pawlak points out 90 percent of initial heart attacks can be prevented by proper diet and exercise.

Then on to our military greetings segment which received this call:

"I wanted to call and thank you for my son’s message last night on TV. It really made my Christmas. So, thank you so very much for putting it on!”
