Every month of the year, except February has at least 29 days and only every four years do we get a February 29th like today. But, do you know why we have leap year? We checked and found that actually every year is 365 days and six hours long, so every four years, we gain 24 hours; an extra day! The idea of a leap year has been around since 4200 B.C. with the Egyptians but was added to the calendar in 46 B.C. by Julius Caesar. The reason for it, the extra day keeps our calendars up to date with the earths one year trip around the sun.
