Clinton and Edwards try to stop Obama in New Hampshire

»  Comments | Post a Comment

(AP) - Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Rodham Clinton and John Edwards are turning up the heat on rival Barack Obama.

The two are trying to stop Obama from having another win in New Hampshire after coming out on top in the Iowa caucuses.

Speaking to supporters today, Clinton compared Obama to President Bush, saying that the president once also said that he could be a uniter, that he didn't need a lot of experience and that he had a good intuition that could help solve the country's problems.

Edwards, meanwhile, implied that Obama might be too nice to take on big oil, pharmaceutical and insurance companies.

Still, he tried to turn the New Hampshire contest into a two-man race. He said there will be "two change agents" on Tuesday's ballot, dismissing Clinton as a member of the status quo.

Obama responded to the criticism by arguing that people also said Abraham Lincoln wasn't ready to lead the country. He also said he understands that hope alone isn't enough to bring change, but can be a catalyst for it.
