(AP) - Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is brushing aside the ample criticism piled on him during last night's debate.
On ABC's "This Week," Romney says, "The guy with the ball is the guy people are trying to tackle."
But, he acknowledges he "was incorrect" about one thing in a testy exchange with rival John McCain.
During the ABC debate, McCain objected to Romney's TV ads calling the Arizona senator's immigration plan amnesty. Romney shot back that he never described the plan as amnesty. Two of his TV commercials use the term, including one that says McCain "wrote the amnesty bill that America rejected."
Mike Huckabee -- appearing on "Fox News Sunday" -- says both he and McCain have been "brutally assaulted" by Romney "with amazingly misleading ads."
Meanwhile, McCain on NBC's "Meet the Press" says Romney has changed his position "on almost every major issue." But, he adds: "That doesn't mean he's not a good person."
