(AP) - Gubernatorial candidate Richard Moore says he disagrees with fellow Democrat Governor Mike Easley on how to reform the Transportation Department.
Moore wants a law prohibiting political contributions from members of the Board of Transportation as part of a reform proposal.
Easley says such a restriction might prevent well-qualified people from serving on the powerful Board of Transportation.
Moore said yesterday he agrees with Easley on many issues, but not this.
A spokesman for another candidate, Lieutenant Governor Beverly Perdue, says she would consider restricting contributions as part of an overall campaign reform measure, not one targeting a single group.
Moore and Perdue are the leading Democratic candidates in the May 6th primary.
